Rocket Yoga is a dynamic, energetic practice that has a magical element of playfulness, accessibility and freedom to try things you may have convinced yourself are impossible. Credited as the original power yoga, The Rocket is a remix of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga that was developed by Larry Schultz in the 80s while touring as the yoga teacher for The Grateful Dead. Practice begins with breathwork, Sun Salutations and standing postures, then progresses into creatively-linked arm balances, inversions, backbends and spinal twists to invigorate and awaken the nervous system.
Students who are looking to start an inversion practice will be given drills to build strength and hands-on assistance to build confidence. For seasoned flyers looking for inspiration, we’ll work on challenging variations and transitions to discover new possibilities. Expect to breathe, sweat, laugh, play and have plenty of opportunities to get upside-down. Open to all levels and designed to meet you where you are.
